Cache statistics and purge history
See how often the cache answers a request, and read who purged what, and when, for each environment.
Parts of this feature are still being built. The Not yet section lists them.
The Caching tab shows two things for each environment: how often the cache answers a request, and a history of every purge.
Cache statistics
For a time range you pick, the tab shows:
- Requests. Every request the environment answered.
- Edge hits. Requests the Cloudflare edge answered without asking the server.
- Server hits. Requests the server's own page cache answered.
- Misses. Cacheable requests the server had to build.
- Bypass. Requests that skip the cache, such as a logged-in user or a cart.
- Hit ratio. Edge and server hits over all cacheable requests. Bypassed requests are not in the ratio.
On a demo site these numbers come from synthetic traffic, and a banner says so. Until the analytics store is connected, the tab says the counts are not connected and shows no ratio.
Purge history
Each purge is listed with its time, its scope (everything, specific URLs, or tags), who asked for it, and whether it succeeded. Purges that clear the edge cache for an environment are listed here. Use the history to check that a purge ran after an update. Clearing the server cache from Tools is a separate action and is not listed.
Not yet
- Cache statistics per URL are not built.
- Automatic purges on a schedule are not built.
