Dashboard and Get started
What the Dashboard shows, and how the Get started steps take a new account to its first site on its own domain.
This article is a draft and may change.
The Dashboard is the first page you see after you sign in. It shows your sites, what changed recently, your notifications, and how much of your plan you use.
What is on it
- Sites. Your three newest sites, each with its environment (Live or Staging), PHP version, and location. Choose a site to open it, or View all sites.
- Get started. The steps from a new account to a live site on your own domain. It disappears when every step is done.
- Recent activity. The last five changes in your company and who made them. View all opens User activity.
- Notifications. Your latest notifications. View all opens the full list.
- Analytics. Plan usage for this billing period, with one bar per limit and your site slots, plus your plan and next invoice. Only people who can see billing see this part.
- Resources. System status, the blog, support, and shortcuts to Security and API keys.
Add site at the top opens the same menu as on the Sites list.
Get started
Each step checks real data, so it is ticked only when the work is done.
- Choose a plan. Pick a plan and pay by card. People who cannot buy, and enterprise accounts, do not see this step.
- Add your first site. A test site does not count when you can buy a plan, because it runs on a simulated server.
- Connect your domain. Opens the Domains page of your first site. The step is done once that site has a domain.
- Invite your team. Business and enterprise accounts only. Done once someone else joins.
The next open step has the only button. Choose Hide to put the list away in this browser.
Quick answers
Why do I not see Analytics? Your role cannot see billing. Ask an owner or admin.
I hid Get started by mistake. It comes back in a new browser or after you clear this site's data. Every step is also on its own page: Company settings, Sites, and Users.
