Create an account
Sign up at avaloi.com, pick a sign-in method, verify your email, and create or join a company.
Open avaloi.com and choose Sign up. Nothing in the dashboard or the API works until you verify your email.
- Enter your email and name. Use an inbox you control: invitations and security mail go there.
- Choose a sign-in method: a password, a passkey, GitHub, or a magic link. You can add more methods later under Security.
- If you use a password, make it at least 12 characters. Avaloi rejects passwords found in known breaches. Pick a unique passphrase.
- Open the link in the message from Avaloi. The link expires. Request a new one from the sign-in page if you miss it.
- Choose an account type. Your own individual account is ready at once, and you can use it alone. Pick Business only if you work with a team, then name it. If someone invited you, accept the invitation with the same email to join their business. Enterprise is not offered at sign up. See Account types.
Social sign-in
GitHub requests identity scopes only. Avaloi links a social account to an existing user when the emails match and are verified.
After you are in
- Set up your company.
- Turn on a passkey or two-factor.
- Invite your team.
Quick answers
I did not get the verification email. Check spam and filters for mail from Avaloi. Request a new link from the sign-in page. Avaloi shows the same message for every address, so it never confirms whether an email has an account.
Forgot password says the same thing for every email. Is that a bug? No. The message is the same whether or not the address has an account. That is intentional.
Can I sign in with GitHub if I signed up with a password? Yes, when the GitHub email matches your verified Avaloi email. Avaloi links the two.
API
GET /v1/users/mePATCH /v1/users/me
