Passkeys
Sign in with Touch ID, Windows Hello, a phone, or a hardware key. Register several and remove a lost device.
A passkey signs you in without a password. Avaloi accepts platform authenticators (Touch ID, Windows Hello, a phone) and roaming keys (a hardware key). You can register several.
Register a passkey
- Open User settings, then Security, then Passkeys.
- Add a passkey and name it so you can tell your devices apart.
- Your browser prompts you to confirm with the authenticator.
Sign in with a passkey
On the sign-in page choose Passkey. Pick the authenticator you registered.
Remove a lost device
Remove it from the same list under Passkeys. If it is your only sign-in method, add a password or two-factor before you remove it.
Passkeys and SSO
Passkeys stay available while SSO is not enforced. Enforced SSO sends members through the identity provider instead.
Quick answers
Can I have a passkey on my laptop and my phone? Yes. Register one on each device and name them.
I lost my hardware key. Sign in with another method, then remove the key from the Passkeys list. If it was your only method, file a recovery request from the sign-in page. Support will not remove a passkey from chat or a single email.
Does a passkey replace two-factor? No. A passkey is a sign-in method. Owners still enroll in two-factor.
